Can’t find anything you like in Qawra? Here’s my full list of 25 Best Malta hotels. You can also look at Bugibba hotels instead (since that town is right next to Qawra).
The db San Antonio Hotel + Spa is one of the best hotels in Qawra you can stay at. With modern interiors, high-quality amenities, and spacious and comfortable rooms (also available with a sea view), this is a popular choice of stay.
Because of its popularity and high standards, the rates increase quickly here, so book well in advance to get the best prices.
N.B. A minimum stay of 4 nights applies
The former Dolmen Hotel Malta has recently undergone major refurbishment works ultimately transforming into a DoubleTree by Hilton property. The newly refurbished hotel is expected to open in April 2024, though bookings are being accepted already.
More information about this hotel will be published as soon as we have more details about the new amenities and features.
Formerly known as the AX Seashells Resort, the newly refurbished AX ODYCY Hotel is one of the larger hotels in the area, located on the Eastern side of Qawra along the coast.
The hotel is known to be a good option for family holidays at reasonable prices, with great facilities and a pool/entertainment area on the coastline across the road from the hotel itself (which can be reached via a small tunnel as well).
TIP: Request a room on the 3rd floor or higher to enjoy sea views.
The Park Lane Boutique Aparthotel is a bit of a gem in an area that’s known more for larger, family-oriented hotels.
Offering a mix of hotel rooms and self-catering apartments, its unassuming, modern interiors and central location offer a good option to couples of all ages.
The Seaview Hotel Malta is a fairly new addition in Qawra and is located at the seafront with – you guessed it – stunning sea views. Expect a modern hotel with facilities to match the 4-star rating, paired with a few good restaurants at street level and comfortable rooms. It is currently one of the best Qawra hotels.
The different hotel rooms offered are spacious, but obviously, the sea view type is offered at much higher rates (which are generally worth it). The city view rooms are only really an option if you can get a good deal because the views aren’t much to write home about, as you can imagine.
N.B. This hotel is advertised as being for “adults only”, so really only a good option for couples.
The Qawra Palace Resort and Spa is similar to the neighbouring AX ODYCY Hotel. Also oriented towards family holidays, the hotel offers a similar level of service and standard of accommodation.
Rooms range from a Standard Twin / Double Room, Standard with a Lateral Sea View, Standard with Sea View, Family Rooms and Junior Suites with Sea View. All year round, the heated indoor pool provides travellers with the ultimate therapeutic escape. During the summer months, you can also lounge by and go for a dip at the hotel’s seaside pool and rooftop pool.
The AX Sunny Coast Resort & Spa is a well-located and good hotel to get a value deal if you’d like to stay on the seafront.
Being a stone’s throw away from the nearby AX ODYCY Hotel and the Qawra Palace Hotel, this is an alternative 4-star option but without the 4-star rates. Having said that, the hotel’s interiors and amenities don’t quite reach the standard anymore, so you do get what you pay for.
The Soreda is a value option among hotels in Qawra, where you can stay for fairly low rates and yet enjoy a comfortable stay.
This hotel gets the basics right and offers decent amenities, including a rooftop swimming pool and terrace. The hotel’s rooms are clean, and the restaurant’s food meets most guests’ expectations. Location-wise, you’ll be staying on the edge of town, close, but not on, the seafront.
Located in the heart of Qawra, Hotel Santana is close to pretty much everything and offers a good level of accommodation.
Room interiors are modern, comfortable and clean, and the hotel’s amenities are well planned and of a good standard. An easy recommendation to make – a solid choice.
There are a good number of budget hotels in Qawra, though the majority are in a pretty poor state and get reviews to match. The below are a few options if you’re on a tight budget where I feel you’ll get value for money despite the cheap rates.
Located near Bugibba Square and the waterfront, the Sunseeker Holiday Complex offers a range of Serviced Self-catering apartments and hotel rooms on short and long lets.
Featuring amenities such as a rooftop outdoor pool with a sun terrace, an indoor pool, gym and sauna and also a lounge bar. In short, it’s a decent option for someone who wants a quiet base after a day of exploring.
What’s more, you’re also close to the bus terminus, with buses running to Valletta, Luqa Airport, and other places of interest.
Situated on the (unofficial) border of Buġibba and Qawra, the Mayflower Hotel is a fairly new addition to the area that offers a quality stay in a modern setting.
Staying close to both the seafront promenade as well as the local bus terminus (with several direct bus routes to some of the most popular sightseeing destinations), this is a great hotel to choose to combine comfort with easy access to public transport.
Qawra is a seaside town that forms part of a small cluster of villages, including Buġibba and St. Paul’s Bay.
A popular destination in Malta, Qawra attracts tourists mostly during the summer months, being rather quiet in winter. More or less built together with Buġibba as tourist resorts, there isn’t much typical local culture to speak of, although nearby St. Paul’s Bay still retains a little of its seaside fisherman’s village character.
Qawra makes for a good holiday location for both families with kids and couples, offering good public transport connections, providers of excursions/tours, restaurants and a few things to do in the area. You can find the Malta National Aquarium along the coastline, close to Ta’ Fra Ben (and its pebbly/rocky beach with crystal clear water), the Malta Classic Car Car Museum, water parks on the shore and in the sea towards the Bugibba side of town, and more.
