Can’t find anything you like in Qawra? Here’s my full list of 25 Best Malta hotels. You can also look at Bugibba hotels instead (since that town is right next to Qawra).
The db San Antonio Hotel + Spa is one of the best hotels in Qawra you can stay at. With modern interiors, high-quality amenities, spacious and comfortable rooms (also available with sea view), this is a popular choice of stay.
Because of its popularity and high standards, the rates increase quickly here so book well in advance to get the best prices.
Things to consider
The AX Seashells Resort at Suncrest is one of the larger hotels in the area, located on the Eastern side of Qawra along the coast.
The hotel is known to be a good option for family holidays at reasonable prices, with good facilities and a pool/entertainment area on the coastline, across the road from the hotel itself (which can be reached via a small tunnel as well).
TIP: Request a room on the 3rd floor or higher to enjoy sea views.
The Park Lane Aparthotel is a bit of a gem in an area that’s known more for larger, family-oriented hotels.
Offering a mix of hotel rooms and self-catering apartments, its unassuming, modern interiors and central location offer a good option to couples of all ages.
Located at the seafront, where Buġibba and Qawra meet, the Dolmen Hotel Malta has been a mainstay in the area for a while. With a 4-star rating, the hotel has built up a solid reputation over the years and maintains a high standard of accommodation.
Boasting a seaside lido with an outdoor pool and pool bar along Qawra’s promenade, this is a popular resort to stay for couples and families with kids.
The Seaview Hotel Malta is a fairly new addition in Qawra and is located at the seafront with – you guessed it – brilliant sea views. Expect a modern hotel with facilities to match the 4-star rating, paired with a few good restaurants at street level and comfortable rooms.
The different hotel rooms offered are spacious but obviously, the sea view type is offered at much higher rates (which are generally worth it). The city view rooms are only really an option if you can get a good deal because the views aren’t much to write home about, as you can imagine.
N.B. This hotel is advertised as being for “adults only”, so really only a good option for couples.
The Qawra Palace Hotel Malta is similar to the neighbouring Seashells Resort. Also oriented towards family holidays, the hotel offers a similar level of service and standard of accommodation.
Aside from a heated indoor pool, the hotel also offers an outside pool area across the road from its main premises.
The AX Sunny Coast Resort & Spa is a well-located and good hotel to get a value deal if you’d like to stay on the seafront.
Being a stone’s throw away from the nearby AX Seashells Resort at Suncrest and the Qawra Palace Hotel, this is an alternative 4-star option but without the 4-star rates. Having said that, the hotel’s interiors and amenities don’t quite reach the standard anymore, so you do get what you pay for.
Things to consider
The Soreda is a value option among hotels in Qawra, where you can stay for fairly low rates and yet enjoy a comfortable stay.
This hotel gets the basics right, offers decent amenities including a roof top swimming pool and terrace. The hotel’s rooms are clean and the food served at the restaurant meets expectations for most guests. Location-wise, you’ll be staying on the edge of town, close, but not on, the seafront.
Things to consider
Located in the heart of Qawra, Hotel Santana is close to pretty much everything and offers a good level of accommodation.
Room interiors are modern, comfortable and clean and the hotel’s amenities are well planned and of a good standard. An easy recommendation to make – a solid choice.
Things to consider
There are a good number of budget hotels in Qawra, though the majority are in a pretty poor state and get reviews to match. The below are a few options if you’re on a tight budget where I feel you’ll get value for money despite the cheap rates.
The Sunflower Hotel in Qawra is a solid, cheap 3-star hotel in Qawra that offers high-value accommodation on a budget.
Although interiors aren’t the most modern and the hotel needs a little TLC, it caters for most holidaymakers’ needs well. It’s one of the few hotels in the area that can count on loyal clientele, which is a good sign in itself.
Fully booked? Try the Canifor Hotel instead.
Things to consider
The Canifor is a cheap hotel option that can make for a decent holiday at the right price. Although it boasts a 4-star rating, the hotel and its facilities are quite dated and don’t really deserve the rating.
That doesn’t mean that it’s not an option to consider, however, as good value can still be had here, with the hotel getting the basics right.
Qawra is a seaside town that forms part of a small cluster of villages including Bugibba and St. Paul’s Bay.
A popular destination in Malta, Qawra attracts tourists mostly during the summer months, being rather quiet in winter. More or less built together with Bugibba as tourist resorts, there isn’t much typical local culture to speak of, although nearby St. Paul’s Bay still retains a little of its seaside fisherman’s village character.
Qawra makes for a good holiday location for both families with kids and couples, offering good public transport connections, providers of excursions/tours, restaurants and a few things to do in the area. You can find the Malta National Aquarium along the coastline, close to Ta’ Fra Ben (and its pebbly/rocky beach with crystal clear water), the Malta Classic Car Collection museum, water parks on the shore and in the sea towards the Bugibba side of town, and more.
