If you want to indulge in some traditional Gozitan food in the capital of the island – Victoria, It-Tokk is a good choice. They offer dishes like rabbit stew, ravioli or bragioli.
They also have a small store with typical Gozitan products, where they sell honey, prickly pear marmalade, goat cheese, olive oil and more. The portions are big, and the prices are reasonable. I can recommend the typical ravioli or the rabbit stew paired with a glass of Gozitan wine. Their terrace looks out over Independence Square, where you can witness the local life in the city.

Most restaurants in Gozo are great for lunch. In winter, some even open only during lunch hours. On the weekends I recommend booking a table, as locals travel to Gozo for lunch with their families, and restaurants tend to fill up.
It might be hard to find delicious vegetarian and vegan food in Gozo. However, there are many restaurants like the above mentioned Black Cat Cafe. They were adapting and started serving more options for vegetarians and vegans.
In traditional restaurants, you will also always find vegetarian pasta dishes. The traditional ravioli with ricotta and tomato sauce is a good option. Pizza is also always a safe choice for vegetarians.
Are you ready to indulge into Gozitan cuisine, or do you still have a question? Feel free to leave a comment, and I’ll get right back to you.
