Decided to go for an Airbnb in Valletta but not sure which to pick? Let me help.
Knowing Malta’s capital city inside out, I can help you select a good Airbnb Valletta option for your stay. Instead of trawling through listings on Airbnb, I’ve selected the standout options that offer 1) The best locations to stay in the city and 2) Best value for money in terms of comfort, amenities, etc.
I’ve also provided some good-to-know tips for booking an Airbnb in Valletta at the end of this page.
I’ve lined up the best options in three nightly rate categories:
Considering other places to stay? Have a look at these articles:
Being Malta’s capital city, Valletta is a popular destination for tourists, pretty much all year round.
Add to that the fact that the city’s become a well-known city worldwide due to being European capital of culture in 2018, both factors make nightly rates among local hotels some of the highest in the country.
Directly renting a holiday let from local landlords through Airbnb is a great alternative to stay inside the bastion city of Valletta at a reasonable price.
Having said that, within Valletta true budget options are rare and you may have to look in the nearby town of Floriana instead. It’s located within 5-10 minutes’ walk of Valletta’s main city gate, is surrounded by green areas and you’ll find many colourful traditional balconies and windows around. It’s a town with real character, relatively quiet and although you won’t stay within the city of Valletta itself, it’s still a great location.
Here are a few of the better options in Valletta and Floriana to consider.

Considering Valletta was built by the Knights of the Order of St. John to be the crown jewel of Malta, both in terms of defenses but also in terms of prestige, it’s only natural to be able to find luxury accommodation inside the city’s walls.
Airbnb offers options in this segment where you can book a luxury stay for less. Although you won’t always have the same amount and/or level of amenities of a 5-star luxury (boutique hotel, you’ll still be able to get a luxury experience at good value.
